The state of New York sports isn't pretty, as the Mets and Yankees both missed the playoffs, and the Jets and Giants are both below .500 in what began as the most anticipated football season in the Big Apple in recent memory.
But BT is convinced that the fortunes of the city will take a turn in the not-too-distant future, as multiple teams in the city are in the process, or on the cusp of, building a winner.
"A championship will be bestowed upon one of these fanbases in two years," BT told Sal. "Before you fire back and probably try to rip this to shreds: Yanks and Mets, massive winters coming up. The Knicks are a top-four seed in the Eastern Conference, in my opinion, have incredible payroll flexibility, and about 10 first-round picks. The Rangers are about a top 10ish team, and the Devils are about a top 5ish team."
As for the football teams, despite how dire it may look right now, BT says that can turn around in a hurry.
"The Jets are going to the playoffs," BT said. "And I still have faith, fairly unwavering, in the Schoen/Daboll dynamic. Two years, and someone is celebrating."
