One of the criticisms about Josh Rosen is that he might need some extra attention from NFL coaches.
But the quarterback out of UCLA, who is expected to be taken high in this week's NFL draft, believes that is more a testament to his work ethic than a knock on him.
"I think because I just have a very large respect for the game and what sort of a complex game it is, and I need to know my coaches care about it as much as I do, and I need to know that my coach is putting as much into this game as I am," Rosen told WFAN's "The Afternoon Drive" on Tuesday. "And when we come into the meeting room, I want him to challenge me. I want him to put me up on the board. I want him to have sort of a daily schedule ready to get after it. Because I want to get better each and every day. I don't want to just clock in and clock out. I want to push the envelope and become the best that there ever was."
With the Giants and Jets owning the second and third overall picks, respectively, Thursday, there's a chance Rosen could soon call New York home. He recently visited both teams.

"The Giants were awesome. Really cool," he said. "Talked with Eli Manning actually for a little while. I mean, I looked up to him as a kid, rooted for him to beat the Patriots in those two Super Bowls. Loved the Giants. It was a great visit.
"The Jets was really cool, too. Brand new facility. Everyone seemed really excited and sort of energized. A really young team. And I mean, I got along with everyone.
"I came out of those both thinking very good things."
When asked if his name should be the first one called Thursday, Rosen said "absolutely." He, USC's Sam Darnold, Wyoming's Josh Allen and Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield are all quarterbacks who are in the discussion to be the top pick.

"I think a lot of the others guys are better at a lot of different things, but if you want to write out on paper what a quarterback does -- they snap the football and they throw it to a receiver and they drive their offense down and score touchdowns -- I think I do that better than all of them.
"I think some of them look a little bit more fancy, some of them can do some special things, but I think a lot of the reason you're doing those is because you're off-schedule and off-script. And the idea of the NFL is you have a lot of big dudes on the other side of the ball. They're trying to take your head off. And you want to stay on scripts and efficient and quick as much and as often as you can. I think I'm the best at that."
