The league and NFLPA agreed on Thursday to suspend all aspects of the joint COVID-19 protocols, effectively immediately, according to a memo sent to teams.

The NFL, like the rest of the world, has spent the last two years navigating the COVID-19 pandemic with rules and restrictions — some of which have come under scrutiny at certain times.

The suspension of protocols, which was determined based on “encouraging trends,” “evolving guidance from the CDC” and “changes to state law and counsel of [the NFL’s] respective experts,” means that there will be no more testing, masks, tracking devices, capacity limits, etc.

The memo states that individuals should continue to monitor themselves for symptoms and anyone who does experience symptoms must report. If a player tests positive he must still isolate for five days, which is consistent with CDC guidance.
