The NFL and its players are doing their part to get out the vote.

The league on Thursday announced it has agreed with the players association to close all league offices and team facilities on Election Day 2020.

The initiative was hatched to "ensure that every member of the NFL family has the opportunity to exercise the precious right to vote," according to a joint press release.

The push will also include "non-partisan" educational programs about voter registration, as well as offering stadiums to public officials for potential use as polling stations, the statement said.

The plan is part of the league's larger effort announced earlier this summer to support and assist players toward achieving social justice.

In addition to the voting push, the parties also announced a one-hour TV special will air on NBC next week, with the aim of creating “a platform for our players and allies to discuss the work that we are doing together to advance social justice and equality.”

Countless athletes have joined calls encouraging people to register and vote in the federal elections on November 3.

Last month, a coalition of athletes -- including LeBron James and Patrick Mahomes -- signed a letter declaring their intent to combat “systemic, targeted voter suppression in our community."

James was also seen wearing a "Vote or Die" t-shirt at a recent Lakers practice.
