Rangers, Islanders, Devils release schedules for 2022-23 season

The schedule for the 2022-23 NHL season is out, and the Rangers will be opening up at home where they enjoyed several magical playoff moments just a couple short months ago, but will face off against the team that ended their improbable run.

The Blueshirts open the season on Oct. 11 against the Lightning at The Garden, with a puck drop time of 7:30 p.m. Five of the team's first seven games are on home ice, including four straight from Oct. 17 to Oct. 25, the final leg of that homestand coming against the defending champion Avalanche.

The Rangers and Islanders face off for the first time on Nov. 8 at MSG, and take on the rival Devils for the first time on Nov. 28, also at The World's Most Famous Arena.

New Jersey opens its season on the road against the Flyers on Oct. 13, and its first home game comes two days later against the Red Wings. The Devils close the season on the road on April 13 against the Capitals.

The Islanders also open the season on Oct. 13, at home against the Panthers. That's nearly a month sooner than last year's home opener due to construction finishing up on UBS Arena.
