Andrew Copp helped the Rangers clinch home ice advantage for the first round of the playoffs with a hat trick on Thursday night, but gave New York more injury concerns shortly after.
Copp and the Blueshirts were dominating the rival Islanders at UBS Arena, but Copp suffered a lower-body injury in the third period, and went to the locker room for the final eight minutes of play.
All three of Copp's goals came in the first period, becoming the first player in team history to accomplish that feat since Don Raleigh in 1948. But now New York must wait to make sure they haven't lost Copp for any significant amount of time as the playoffs draw closer.

The Rangers are already without Kaapo Kakko, who fell awkwardly last weekend and is considered week-to-week, and Tyler Motte, who suffered a "significant" upper-body injury against the Penguins and is out for at least the rest of the regular season. Copp, a trade-deadline acquisition like Motte, has been a difference-maker for the team, logging eight goals and 10 assists in 15 games since being dealt to New York.
