Artemi Panarin will play for Rangers Saturday, make return from leave of absence

The Breadman is officially back.

After returning to the Rangers earlier this week, Artemi Panarin will be in the lineup and will play in New York's game against the Bruins on Saturday, ending a leave of absence that spanned nine games, according to USA Today's Vince Mercogliano.

Panarin began his leave of absence last month after a story out of Russia accused the Hart Trophy finalist of assault against an 18-year-old woman. The Rangers released a statement shortly after Panarin's leave, supporting their star winger, who was believed to be the victim of a hit piece after he showed support for the opposition of Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Panarin returns at a good time for the slumping Rangers, who have went 4-4 since Feb. 22, when he started his leave of absence. Panarin has 18 points on the season thanks to five goals and 13 assists.
