Boomer: Something is clearly wrong physically with Adam Fox

The Rangers are in an 0-1 series hole after being shut down by the Panthers in game one, and while Boomer felt that the offense was “suffocated” by Florida, his biggest concern is on defense, where the Blueshirts’ former Norris Trophy winner doesn’t look 100 percent.

“It’s obvious that Adam Fox is not right,” Boomer said. “You could see it when he was trying to stride to the puck last night. He’s dealing with something.

“He’s not the same player…there’s something wrong with Adam Fox. He’s just not moving the same way.”

Fox shrugged off injury concerns when he was asked about it prior to game one, though he has taken some maintenance days since taking a hit in the first round against Washington, and Boomer believes that’s indeed when the injury happened.

“I think he got hurt in the Capitals series. He had a knee on knee in the Capitals series,” Boomer said. “To me, that looks to be the situation with him. If you’ve ever played with knee pain or any sort of knee soreness, I can tell you that’s not fun.”
