C-Mac doesn’t believe the series is over, but if the Rangers want to overcome their 3-2 series deficit, their stars have to finally show up and play like stars.
“They need to figure out a way to get their best players playing better…there’s a lot of things to figure out before game six on Saturday night,” C-Mac said. “Panarin, Zibanejad, Kreider…these guys have to perform in game six.”
C-Mac doesn’t want to hear any excuses for Artemi Panarin, who has gone silent since the Rangers first-round series against the Capitals. Sure, defenses are keyed in on shutting Panarin down, but C-Mac says true stars find a way to still make an impact under those circumstances, and Panarin has yet to do that.
“If you are a great player…you have got to have an impact on this series. I don’t care what they do with you,” C-Mac said. “I’m sorry, I refuse to believe that there are ways to completely eliminate a player and there’s nothing you can do about it. In any sport, it’s not impossible to impact the game…he has to overcome it.”
