Chris Kreider ignites NHL Twitter by breaking out Nikita Kucherov move on Kucherov's teammate

Chris Kreider broke out the Nikita Kucherov move on Kucherov's own teammate, and NHL Twitter loved every bit of it.

Shooting on Tampa Bay's Andrei Vasilevskiy during the NHL's Save Streak event at All-Star weekend, the Rangers star and NHL's leading scorer moved in and, like Kucherov has done for years, simply let go of the puck and let it slowly slide through Vasilevskiy's legs while continuing to play the puck with his stick.

"It's something we mess around with a little bit after practice," Kreider said afterward. "Figured I'd give it a try, right? Just have a little fun, try to be creative."

Kucherov pulled it off in the 2018 All-Star Game, then again in the regular season shortly after, both on Capitals goalie Braden Holtby.

"Joking with him, figured he'd seen it before and it worked out," Kreider said. "Thought I'd try it on his teammate."

Asked if he ever tried it on teammate Igor Shesterkin, Kreider said he typically hadn't been as successful against the Blueshirts goaltender.

"Once in a blue moon, yeah," Kreider said when asked if he ever beats Shesterkin with Kucherov's move. "I think I did it better than I normally do it."
