Keith was on the air as the Rangers were making their third period comeback in game six on Thursday night, and he made sure to give Chris Kreider his flowers after the Blueshirts’ all-time playoff scorer logged a natural hat trick in a nine-minute span to send New York to the Eastern Conference Final.
“Big-time players make big-time plays in big-time games,” Keith said. “He had the feeling he could impose his will…you go legend. That’s historic. That doesn’t happen.”
Plenty of Rangers fans called in to sing the praises of Kreider, the hero in game six, and Keith said every bit of the praise was warranted.
“Everybody’s been calling to give this guy his flowers,” Keith said. “Job’s no finished, but a game six on the road, that one is going to be remembered.”
