Sal riding high after Rangers comeback in game six: 'As great a win as you could possibly have'
Sal opened Friday's show still riding the high of watching the Rangers clinch a spot in the Eastern Conference Final in game six.
"I have not felt emotions like that as a fan in a long, long time," Sal said. "I wasn't sure I had that in me.
"That was as great a win as you could possibly have."
BT added that he couldn't believe what he was watching as the Blueshirts erased a 3-1 lead in the third period thanks to Chris Kreider logging a natural hat trick in nine minutes of action, but wondered where Sal was at mentally in the second intermission, with New York trailing and in danger of seeing a 3-0 series lead turn into a do-or-die game seven. But Sal wasn't in panic mode, and his faith was rewarded.
"In my mind, it wasn't like the Rangers weren't playing well…but I would be lying to you if I said I wasn't thinking about a game seven," Sal said. "But even with the game seven looming, I felt like they were going to win that game seven. I felt like the Rangers were the better team, and then they showed it."
