An apparently clueless reporter covering Super Bowl LV was roasted on social media after confusing a pair of Tampa Bay Bucs coaches for each other.

The reporter, who identified himself as Michael Donaldson on the postgame video conference call, lobbed a defense-oriented question at Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich following Tampa Bay's lopsided win over the Kansas City.

"Going into the game, what was your No. 1 goal on the defensive side to shut Mahomes down -- to shut that high-powered offense down," Donaldson asked. "What was your No. 1 goal going into that game?"

Leftwich, a 41-year-old former NFL quarterback himself, appeared thrown off by the question but politely deferred to his colleague, Bucs defensive coordinator Todd Bowles.

"To shut Pat Mahomes down?" Leftwich asked. "I think you got the wrong guy. I had nothing to do with that -- that was Todd Bowles."

Bowles, 57, played briefly in the late 1980s and early 1990s before transitioning to coaching. He was head coach of the Jets for four years from 20015-18.

The gaffe gained traction on social media overnight, where it was surfaced by several prominent football observers and analysts.

"Wrong black guy alert," responded Emmanuel Acho, who retweeted the video with an "AWKWARD" warning.

Acho then tweeted side-by-side photos of the two coaches, who look nothing alike.

Others chimed in to register their disappointment as well.

Following the game, many paused to give props to Leftwich and Bowles, as well as special teams coordinator Keith Armstrong, the league's only all-black coordinator triumvirate.
