PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Game times for seven Rutgers football contests were announced today by the Big Ten Conference and its television partners. The Scarlet Knights' 2023 season opens Sunday, Sept. 3 at Noon with a nationally televised conference matchup on CBS against Northwestern at SHI Stadium.
Game times for three of the Scarlet Knights' four games during the month of September were part of the league announcement. Rutgers will host Temple on Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at SHI Stadium, followed by Virginia Tech, presented by PNC on Sept. 16 at 3:30 p.m. Both games will broadcast on Big Ten Network.
The annual Homecoming and Family game presented by RWJBarnabas Health is set for Oct. 14 at Noon when the Scarlet Knights host Michigan State at SHI Stadium.
Three road contests were part of the game time announcement with the Rutgers-Michigan game set for Noon on Sept. 23. The Scarlet Knights travel to Madison to take on Wisconsin on Oct. 7 for a game that will kick off at either Noon, or 3:30/4 p.m. Rutgers is slated to face Indiana on Oct. 21 at Noon.
All remaining game times and television designations will be decided during the season via the 12-/6-day selection process.
Season tickets are on sale for the home slate this fall, which features four games at SHI Stadium in September and the return of The Rutgers Boardwalk. The season opener versus Northwestern, presented by Provident Bank will mark the first time the Scarlet Knights open with a home Big Ten game.
