After another rough offensive showing in Friday night’s loss to Nebraska, Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano has announced that offensive coordinator Sean Gleeson.

“This was a difficult decision, but I believe it is in the best interest of our program to make a change at offensive coordinator,” Schiano said in a statement. “I want to thank Sean for his hard work and wish he and his family all the best in their future endeavors.”

With Gleeson as offensive coordinator, the Scarlet Knights rank 108th in the country in total offense this season, averaging just 14.2 points per game and 284 total yards. They rank in the bottom 25 in the country in multiple offensive categories, and Friday’s loss came after the offense stalled out in the second half while the Cornhuskers game from behind to hand Rutgers its third straight loss to open up conference play.

Tight ends coach Nunzio Campanile will take offer as the interim offensive coordinator, while Gleeson will be paid out the rest of his contract through next year.
