The Boomer and Gio show announced our new program director at WFAN on Monday morning, and that PD is…
Ryan Hurley!
The Hofstra product spent nearly 20 years at ESPN New York, bringing a wealth of sports radio knowledge to the FAN. He joined The Morning Show live in studio after Gio announced that Hurley would follow in Spike Eskin’s footsteps, and Ryan raved about the opportunity to take on the role at a place like WFAN.
“It’s amazing. It’s a lifelong dream,” Hurley said. “I got into the business because of this place…I woke up and went to sleep listening to the station as a kid.
“To come over here is different. This is the gold standard and the most iconic station in this genre, obviously, and one of the greatest ever. This is a big deal.”
Gio naturally spent some of the reveal giving Ryan a hard time, but even he wasn’t able to rain on Ryan’s big day, despite painting pictures of Ryan having to deal with Boomer the morning after a Rangers loss.
