Sal is going with the Giants to upset the Jets on Sunday, even with Daniel Jones likely sitting out once again due to lingering symptoms from a neck injury that has kept him out of the last two games.
Why the confidence in Big Blue? Because Sal has more confidence in the Giants backup quarterback than the Jets' starter.
"Zach Wilson ain't it. He doesn't have it," Sal said. "That's why I don't think the Jets can beat the Giants Sunday.
"The matchup with Wink Martindale's defense going up against Zach Wilson, that is the biggest issue I have…I worry about his maturity. I want to see some command. Plus, reading a defense, and that' my issue this week."
Sal hasn't believed in Wilson since he took over for Aaron Rodgers in Week 1, and doesn't believe Wilson is capable of winning a game for his team. So, even with the Giants decimated by injuries, Sal believes the defense that wreaked havoc on the Commanders will be able to force Wilson into enough mistakes to come away with the win, which would signal that the Jets need to make a change at quarterback.
"If Zach Wilson can't prove that he can beat a team like the Giants and do well against a defense that is gonna be aggressive and come after him," Sal said. "I think maybe it's time for the Jets to go in a different direction if they want to make this season count in terms of postseason and beyond."
