The NHL announced Thursday that the weekend's Stadium Series event at MetLife Stadium was a hit, both inside the stadium and on the airwaves.
The league reported more than 150,000 fans in attendance for the two games combined, while the average viewership of 1.37 million was up 21 percent from last year's Stadium Series game between the Capitals and Hurricanes in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Sunday's matchup between the Rangers and Islanders averaged 1.57 total viewers, peaking at 2.38 million, making it the most viewed Stadium Series game since 2019, and the most-viewed regular season NHL game since the league began broadcasting its games on ESPN in 2021. It was also the most viewed regular season game in the New York market in 10 years.
Saturday's Devils/Flyers matchup averaged 1.13 million viewers, peaking at 1.38 million.
