Wild stat shows just how badly hyped New York football seasons have gone off the rails

If you wanted a stat to sum up just how disastrous the start has been to the New York football season, look no further than what ESPN Stats & Info reported on Monday night.

As the Giants were limping towards a 24-3 blowout loss to the Seahawks in what was widely regarded as a must-win game, ESPN revealed that there are only two teams in the NFL that have yet to take an offensive snap while holding a lead this season.

Those two teams? The Giants and the Jets.

Gang Green's lone win of the season came on a punt return touchdown in overtime against the Bills in Week 1, as the offense was never on the field with the lead. The Giants' lone victory came in Week 2 against the Cardinals, when a historic comeback was capped off by a field goal in the final moments of the game, meaning they never brought the offense out for a snap while holding a lead.

In what started as one of the most hyped football seasons in the Big Apple in recent memory, the season for both New York teams is quickly turning into a nightmare.
