The Pulse of the People Award Committee has finalized the nominees for the 2023 Award, and dropped them off at DJais in Belmar for six-time winner Craig Carton to announce live at our Kickoff to Summer sponsored by C4 Energy!
This year’s nominees:
-Yankees manager Aaron Boone, who texted Craig and said “this would be one of the great moments of my life if I win”
-WNBC’s Bruce Beck, a first-time nominee after 30 years as a legend in the NYC sports broadcasting scene and one Evan called ‘very worthy’
-Giants head coach Brian Daboll, a nomination Craig rightly predicted would be met with a huge round of applause and Evan’s ‘favorite in the clubhouse’
-Defending winner Stu Feiner, a ‘no brainer’ whose name was announced as the crowd at DJais was chanting for fellow Barstool legend Frank The Tank
-Legendry WFAN listener/caller Dan Campbell aka Dan in Carteret, someone Craig said ‘half of you have never heard of, and the rest of you won’t like it’
-Knicks point guard (and the best one they’ve had in 25 years, says Craig) Jalen Brunson, who bitter Nets fan Evan says ‘will never win an NBA championship here so maybe he can win this’
-New York Mets WAG Kate Upton, who, before joining husband Justin Verlander in NYC, was responsible for convincing the Jets to bring back the Flight Crew
-Jets GM Joe Douglas, friend of the station and man who brought Aaron Rodgers to New York…yet is an ‘undeserved nomination’ in Evan’s eyes
-CBS Sports Radio producer Shaun Morash, who famously jinxed the Rangers’ Stanley Cup run and embarrasses himself on a regular basis otherwise
-And, of course, a write-in vote: Craig Carton, the six-time winner who totally isn’t the Committee at all, and probably stole it from Dummy Carton, who was first in line at DJais yesterday
