The Yankees and Mets have teamed up to do something they have never done before.
With the Yanks edging the Rangers 1-0 on Monday, they became the first team in the American League to get to 20 wins in 2022. The Mets did the same in the National League on Sunday, when they split a doubleheader with the Phillies.
That makes the two New York teams the first to 20 wins in their respective leagues this season, something that had never been done in the past.
Both teams have enjoyed incredibly successful first months of the regular season, with the Mets rolling since opening weekend and the Yanks overcoming a rocky start by winning 11 in a row and 13 of their last 15 games.
It could be a fun summer of baseball in the Big Apple.
