The NFL Draft will be live again and have prospects in attendance, but it will not have the night’s biggest star.

Trevor Lawrence, who is expected to be selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the first overall pick, has declined the NFL’s invite to attend the draft in Cleveland, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Instead, Lawrence will watch the draft with family members and friends at Clemson — his plan all along.

The 21-year-old quarterback has been hyped as the No. 1 overall pick ever since his freshman year when he led Clemson to a national title over Alabama to complete an undefeated season.

While there has been much discussion about the other quarterbacks in the draft — Zach Wilson, Justin Fields, Trey Lance — one thing that is unanimous is that Lawrence stands out above the rest.

Lawrence will in all likelihood be joining a new-look Jaguars team that will have former Ohio State and Florida head coach Urban Meyer at the helm.
