Instead, Rizzo got the call to take the mound in the seventh inning as the Cubs were being blown out by the Braves. When he got there and the reigning National League MVP Freeman came to the plate, Rizzo summoned the magic and nasty (usually high 60s) stuff that has him tied for the all-time MLB record with a 0.00 ERA (no minimum inning threshold for this statistic).
