WATCH: Danielle McCartan chats with Queens' own WNBA star Tina Charles

Leading up to the Olympic Games in Tokyo later this month, Danielle McCartan has been talking to local stars turned Olympians in her "Homegrown Olympians" series on McCartan After Midnight.

In the wee hours of July 4, Danielle sat down with Queens' own Tina Charles, who is already a two-time Olympic gold medalist and future Basketball Hall of Famer! Charles, whose laundry list of accolades from Christ the King High School, UConn, overseas and in the WNBA could fill its own column, will try to win her third gold as part of Team USA's Women's Basketball squad.

Charles and Team USA won gold in both London and Rio, and she also has three World Cup golds, a FIBA U18 Championship, two national titles at UConn, two state titles at Christ the King, and three league titles overseas (two in Turkey, one in Poland) on her resume as well, missing only a WNBA title for the set.

This is the first year in nearly two decades that Charles isn't in the NYC area – she spent her first 10 WNBA seasons with either the Connecticut Sun or New York Liberty – but before she heads to Tokyo, she came back to the FAN airwaves to chat with Danielle. Check it out below!
