WFAN Softball Drama: Is Craiggy off the team? He's definitely not the shortstop…

Danielle McCartan usually holds it down from 2-6 a.m. on Sunday morning, but with all the holiday schedule shuffle, she was on the Christmas Eve overnight – and got a very special pop-in from Boomer Esiason around 5:10 a.m.!

D-Mac was holding it down until Boomer & Gio, but when the Booms heard her talking about the Jets and tanking, he popped in the studio to say hello and join the convo – which, it seems, quickly turned to how McCartan wants in on the WFAN softball team.

Danielle plays shortstop in her various rec leagues, and when she brought up that spot being filled,

“I heard Craig Carton is the shortstop,” she said, to which Boomer quickly replied: “No, no, no, C-Lo is the shortstop. I’m not even sure if we’re bringing Craiggy back yet! We don’t start until June or so, but we’ll see how he gets through the next year.”

That squad is stacked, and the other side of the keystone is entrenched, too, so it looks like D-Mac will have to be a utility player?

“Third base makes me nervous with men hitting at me,” she said – to which Boomer said “not with the men we play against” – but even though she’s never played the outfield, she’s willing to learn.

That’s when Boomer asked her if she would catch, basically usurping Eddie Scozzare’s spot, and…wait, did we just stir up more holiday diamond drama?
