The latest edition of "The Evan Roberts Podcast" is Part 3 in a series about longtime WFAN update anchor John Minko. In this episode, Minko breaks some news about his future with WFAN.
In the final 10 minutes of the episode, Minko says he is leaning toward retiring within the next year.
"There is no definitive date, but on July 1st, it will be the 32nd anniversary of the radio station," he said. "I've been here all 32 years. For me, there will be a 32nd anniversary, but I doubt there will be a 33rd. It could be next year odds are, I didn't say definitively."
Minko spoke about his coversation with program director Mark Chernoff about his thinking. Minko teared up a bit during the interview and also talked about his buddy Tony Paige retiring this year.
Minko also spoke about the early WFAN days, Don Imus, "Mike and the Mad Dog," the future of updates on the radio, the history of the station and much more.
