Evan & Tiki: What one game would be hottest ticket in New York sports?

As ticket sales skyrocket in Detroit for the Lions' divisional round game against the Buccaneers, Evan and Tiki wondered what sporting event in New York would be the most in demand, and drive the prices up to the highest we've ever seen.

"What would be the event that breaks the bank?" Evan wondered.

Everyone had a different answer, starting with Tiki, who said it would be an NFC Championship game hosted by the Giants at MetLife Stadium.

Evan disagreed.

"You guys are too good. You guys have hosted an NFC Championship game in our lifetime," Evan said. "You played in it. It's real…I would just tell you that a Jets AFC Championship game would be a hotter ticket than a Giant championship game. The Jets? The miserable, redheaded stepchild Jets hosting a championship game? The get-in price would destroy the Giants!"

Tommy Lugauer believes the hottest ticket would be to MSG for an NBA Finals, as a championship-starved Knicks fanbase would empty their bank accounts to potentially see the team's first title since 1973.

"Here's the problem with the championship game. There's another game after that," Lugauer said. "Game seven, Madison Square Garden, with a chance for the Knicks to win a title, something we've never seen in our lifetime, at The Garden, which is a hot ticket."

Evan agreed that the hottest ticket would be to MSG, but not for the Knicks.

"Game seven, Rangers. I think the Rangers," Evan said. "Last year, when they were in the playoffs, their tickets were hotter than the Knicks' were.
The Knicks had a hot ticket…but Rangers tickets in general were more expensive than Knicks tickets."

Game seven, Mets and Yankees World Series was another honorable mention, though Evan noted the arena nature of basketball and hockey meant fewer tickets to sell, and therefore higher prices.
