Why does Evan Roberts think some New York fans are hypocrites?

We know Evan Roberts is a super fan of all of his teams, something he illustrated using the Brooklyn Nets as an example during Friday's show with Alvin Cintron.

"I've missed one opening night for the Nets in 15 years – the Mets' World Series game in 2015," Evan said. "If I went to Nets opening night over a Mets World Series game, I'd have to have my head examined."

That led to Knicks fan Alvin joshing Evan about whether or not Nets opening night always sells out, frustrating a still-recovering Evan a bit. But, when Alvin admitted he doesn't like being poked by Yankees fans so he does it to Nets fans, Evan wanted to know why Alvin was becoming a hypocrite like many New York fans.

"I've never understood this about certain fans in this town – we've talked about big brother and little brother in this town, and if you root for teams that fit both narratives, sometimes you become a hypocrite with the way you act," Evan said. "All of my teams are little guys, so I live on that side of the street. You are a Mets fan, so you know what it's like to be poked by Yankees fans, so why is it that the first think out of your mouth as a Knicks fan is to bust my chops?"

Alvin admitted that he grew up in the late-1980s when the Mets were contenders and the Yankees were cellar-dwellers, but Evan doesn't think he's seen anything "even close to this being a Mets town."

Take a listen as Evan, Alvin, and producer Conor Green debate this hypocrisy!
