BT believes the Yankees will land Juan Soto in a blockbuster trade, which would be part one of Sal's master plan.
That plan ends with Soto signing with the Mets after the Yanks emptied their assets for one year of Soto's services.
"That would erase 2000. Almost," Sal said. "Pretty please, sports Gods, give me that one."
So, amid reports that the Yankees and Padres have discussed a Soto trade, Sal is hoping it becomes reality, only for Soto to test free agency and head to Queens.
"I'm rooting for the Yankees to trade for Juan Soto, because that's what I want to happen," Sal said. "I want the Yankees to get Soto. Get him here, get him acclimated to New York, as long as the Yankees don't win the World Series. Mets are gonna steal him away from them, and it's gonna be the greatest thing ever."
