According to Sports Business Journal, the Red Sox have signed a 10-year, $17 million annual deal with Mass Mutual to be a jersey sponsor for the team, meaning Boston will wear a Mass Mutual patch on team jerseys starting next season.

The report also indicates that the Yankees and Mets could be next.

Per Sports Business Journal, the Mets are interested in a sponsorship deal that could pay $25 million per year, and that Oak View Group is selling that patch, and the Yankees have hired a consulting company to help put together a deal of their own.

Yankee fans have some experience in seeing patches on the pinstripes, as the team wore one during the two-game series against the Red Sox in London in 2019. But sponsorship patches are coming, and uniforms won’t look the same.
