The Yankees and Mets have released their full regular season schedules for the 2024 campaign, and the Bombers will be opening the year against a familiar foe.
The Yanks will travel down to Houston to take on the Astros for a four-game set beginning on Opening Day, Thursday, March 28. There will be no off day in between games one and two, with the series running uninterrupted through Sunday. Days off after Opening Day are typically saved for when the Yankees open at home to account for potential rain.
The Yanks then head to Arizona for a three-game stint with the Diamondbacks before returning to the Bronx for their home opener on Friday, April 5, against the Blue Jays.
Other notable dates include their first west coast trip beginning on May 24, with series against the Padres, Angels, and Giants, the first two games of the Subway Series on June 25 and 26 at Citi Field, and resuming in the Bronx on July 23 and 24.
The Yankees don't play the Red Sox for the first time until June 14 in Boston. The season concludes at home on Sept. 29 against the Pirates.
For the Mets, their season opens on March 28 at home against the Brewers, and that series continues on Saturday after a day off in between. They meet the Braves for the first time on April 8, and the Phillies on May 13. The Mets also meet the Phils on June 8 and 9 in London.
The season concludes as it began, taking on the Brewers.
