Buck Showalter on Yankee Stadium crowd: 'Almost as good as ours that we had at Citi Field'

The Yankees and Mets have completed another Subway Series, perhaps the most anticipated city battle in over a decade.

With both teams atop their divisions and with World Series aspirations, the scene in the Bronx for Tuesday night's series finale was once again a memorable one, with plenty of Mets fans in attendance at Yankee Stadium, battling "Lets' go Yan-kees!" chants with their own roars of "Let's go Mets!" in an eventual 4-2 win for the Bombers.

The home team went home happy, and Buck Showalter said the home crowd almost provided as exciting an atmosphere that the crowd did at Citi Field when the two teams played in Queens last month.

"It was almost as good as ours that we had at Citi Field," Showalter said. "Our Citi Field crowd was special too."

The Mets took both home games in July, while the Yanks grabbed both in the Bronx. Now, the two teams will part for the season, unless there is another meeting in October.

"It's great for the fans," Showalter said. "And a great experience for our players to understand that we hope to do the things it takes to get a chance to hopefully get back to this place sometime, if we're both here."
