ESPN MLB insider Buster Olney had Yankee fans stirring Thursday morning, when he reported that the Bombers were expected to be the main team pursuing Shohei Ohtani, should he be made available before the trade deadline.

“You start with the Yankees,” OIney said on ESPN. “There is no doubt, talking with sources yesterday, they see the Yankees as potentially being the most motivated. Gerrit Cole, Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, those are middle-aged players right in the prime of their careers. This is the Yankees window to win now….Ohtani, hitting in Yankee Stadium…that is something I’m sure the Yankees would be willing to pay for is he is made available by the Angels.”

In reaction to that news, Tiki wanted to know Steve Cohen would let any of this happen.

“My immediate first reaction is, where the hell is Steve Cohen? Where is Steve Cohen?” Tiki said. “He sat on the sideline and took a backwards K for Aaron Judge. We talked about this all week. He didn't even swing. He barely got in the batter's box.

“This better be impetus for him to go call the Angels right now and say, ‘what's it gonna take?’ I am not letting the Yankees beat me to Shohei Ohtani if I'm Steve Cohen.

“From Yankee fandom, it's kind of like, ‘all right, let's go. What's it gonna cost?’ But from a New York sports radio standpoint, where the hell is Stevie?”
