C-Mac rips Aaron Boone for calling Yankees infield defense a strength
Aaron Boone told Talkin’ Yanks on Tuesday that the Yankees’ infield defense is a strength of the team, and after watching the likes of Gleyber Torres, Anthony Rizzo, and Anthony Volpe make multiple miscues this season, C-Mac says the skipper is way off the mark.
“He says the infield defense is not a problem, but is even a strength! I’m just like ‘Boonie, what the hell are you talking about?’” C-Mac said. “I don’t care what the numbers say. I don’t care what fugazi list you can find that says they’re great…we’re watching the games. The infield defense is blowing the games! This is like the one thing that Boone consistently lies about that I don’t understand. Whether it’s IKF at shortstop, or Gleyber at shortstop before that…I don’t know why he feels the need to tell us that the infield defense is better than what we’re watching.”
C-Mac has raised concerns about the infield defense all season long, and says Boone can’t be being truthful when he says that area of the team is a strength right now.
“Don’t tell me there are numbers that suggest that the infield defense is actually a strength of the team,” C-Mac said. “It’s killing them.”
