Aaron Hicks is signing with the Angels, and the Yankees will be on the hook for millions of dollars for the next two years after releasing him last season.

The signing for Hicks reminded C-Mac of when he was furious with Yankee fans for raining boos on Hicks when he came back to the Bronx after signing with the Orioles.

“One of my low moments in my Yankee fandom…booing Aaron Hicks relentlessly during his return with Baltimore,” C-Mac said. “Booing the tribute video to a guy who had been here for a while, hit playoff home runs, hit a game-winning home run against Verlander and the Astros. He had his moments. He was brutally bad. I know it was a symbol of Brian Cashman, so it was a way to boo Brian Cashman in some ways. But I thought it was ridiculous.”

With tribute videos on the minds of fans in New York with Kevin Durant set to return to Brooklyn on Wednesday night, C-Mac said Yankee fans didn’t handle the Hicks video well, despite the admission that he was brutal in his final years in pinstripes.

“I was really pissed off that Yankee Stadium absolutely booed a tribute video to a guy that had been here a while,” C-Mac said. “He’s already gone.
Boo him when he comes to the plate. He’s a Baltimore Oriole, I have no problem with that.”
