Friday night was a chance for Aaron Judge to answer a question that only a true superstar could answer, with both of the candidates fresh in his mind.
What is more satisfying, hitting a home run or robbing one?
“Oh, they’re close,” Judge said. “Robbing it, you have the crowd excitement and you’re helping out your pitcher who is working his butt off, and it’s pretty cool. Hitting one is kind of the same thing, you’re helping tout team add some runs to the board.”
Judge got to do both on Friday, robbing a home run on the first at-bat of the game before blasting two of his own, including a grand slam for his 41st bomb of the season. Judge loves taking home runs away, but hitting them is still his personal favorite.
That’s good for Judge since he hits so many.
“Hitting a homer is still above robbing one right now,” Judge said. “But it is still fun getting a chance to do that.”
