Aaron Judge moved past Giancarlo Stanton in one playoff record category by going deep in Tuesday’s game five, but in doing so, he also teamed up with his fellow slugger to set their own franchise postseason record.
According to ESPN Stats and Info, Judge and Stanton set a Yankees playoff record by going deep in the same game for the fourth time as teammates, more than any other Bronx Bomber duo. The two helped catapult the Yanks to a fast start in Tuesday’s decisive game five by hitting home runs in consecutive innings, a three-run blast by Stanton and a solo shot from Judge.
The two also went deep in the same game in their first playoff game together as teammates, a win over the A’s in the 2018 American League Wild Card Game.
