Aaron Judge celebrated his big game five home run by kissing the interlocking NY on the front of his pinstriped jersey, immediately filling the hearts of Yankee fans who are desperate to see the superstar stay in New York long term.
The celebration was inspired by Premier League soccer players who do something similar after scoring goals, so Judge took his second home run of the postseason as an opportunity to honor his soccer interest.
“I’ve been watching a of of Premier League soccer games, so I see those guys doing it,” Judge said in the locker room. “It was in the moment.”
Yankee fans hope the celebration carried a little more meaning and foreshadowing than that.
