Aaron Judge: 'A lot of stuff going on around here needs to be fixed' after Yankees eliminated

The Yankees have officially been eliminated from the postseason, meaning it will be the first time since making his MLB debut in 2016 that Aaron Judge will not be playing in the playoffs.

Speaking with reporters after the Yankees’ loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday, the Yankee captain made it clear that changes need to be made this winter.

“It’s tough. Every year I’ve been in New York, we’ve been in the postseason,” Judge said. “So it’s gonna be a little different this offseason, but that’s just gonna give us more time to work and get ready for the next one.

“We got a lot to work on, a lot of things to change. A lot of stuff going on around here that needs to be fixed.”

Asked specifically what needed to be changed, Judge declined to go into details.

“I’ll keep that in house,” Judge said. “We have a lot to work on. I don’t need to tell you guys.”

Judge noted injuries, including his own, didn’t help things, and that the team collectively “didn’t come out and do our job.” So, once again, the season is a failure in the eyes of Judge, who says it always will be one until he and the Yanks are able to bring a World Series back to New York.

“If I’m not sitting here talking to you guys after a championship,” Judge said. “It’s a failure.”
