Andy Pettitte was at Yankees spring training on Tuesday, and threw batting practice to the likes of Aaron Judge as the former Yankee great continued his role as a team advisor.

After Pettitte threw from behind the L screen in Tampa, Aaron Boone told SNY’s Andy Martino that Pettitte will be seen a lot more often this season.

Boone told Martino that Pettitte will be with the Yankees for 40-60 games in 2024, a big uptick in face time as opposed to last season.

“He knows pitching,” Boone said. “He’s a Yankee legend, and he has really a lot to offer - not just to pitchers but to everyone. And he and I have developed a close relationship.”

Boone said Pettitte might not be around as much in the first month or so of the season, but as the 2024 campaign gets off and running, the beloved lefty will be around a lot more, helping a pitching staff that needs bounceback campaigns from southpaws Nestor Cortes and Carlos Rodon.
