Al Dukes has only been back for a few days, so forgive him if a wacky call slips through the cracks – like, say, Monday, when a caller named Pat tried to make a point about Boomer & Gio not praising Gleyber Torres…and then blew it in his answer to Gio’s response question.
“So Pat, do you think Gleyber has been a good shortstop this season?” Gio asked, to which Pat responded, “no he hasn’t…”
And that just set Gio off on a guy who had already dropped Al’s signature “Google it” on him.
“Take your whiny voice somewhere else…like Chernoff with caffeine!” Gio said, before launching into an impression of Pat you just have to hear. “Who the hell wants that on a Monday?”
Boomer only had one response: “Think he’s married?”
