Boomer & Gio: Yankees need to 'keep an eye' on struggling Giancarlo Stanton

The struggling Giancarlo Stanton struck out three times in Tuesday’s Yankees loss, and Boomer and Gio believe the slugger can’t look much worse at the plate.

“Giancarlo Stanton just looks like he does not have any hand-eye coordination anymore,” Gio said. “You watch his at-bats, he has no shot.

“I would keep an eye on him if I’m Brian Cashman and say, ‘We can’t have this guy in the lineup if he’s gonna be a zero like this.’ Every time he steps up to the plate, you think he’s gonna strike out…he looks shot.”

Boomer says the former MVP has devolved into nothing more than a guess hitter.

“He just guesses,” Boomer said. “The scouting report on him is slider low and away, because he’s guessing fastball.

“To me, he’s thinking fastball, and every pitcher he faces is just throwing sliders low and away. Because that’s the book on him.”
