As the Yanks prepared for game two against Cleveland ace Shane Bieber on Friday morning, Boomer was busy declaring the ALDS series already over.

Boomer says the Yanks, who entered Friday with a 1-0 lead, were set to “cakewalk” through the rest of the series and stroll into an ALCS series against the Astros, which everyone is really waiting for.

“I think about the light-hitting lineup that the Guardians are,” Boomer said. “This should be a cakewalk for the Guardians and they should be able to sweep right through. “Get this thing over with and get right to the ALCS. That’s what we’re all looking forward to.

“Once they get done with today and tomorrow, it’s over.”

Gio kindly reminded Boomer about the pitching challenge the Bombers will face in game two, but Boomer didn’t seem all that concerned about Bieber, who the Yanks knocked around the last time they saw him in the postseason.

“We’ve seen it against [Luis] Castillo and [Jacob] deGrom and [Max] Scherzer,” Boomer said. “Hit a home run or two and the game is over.”
