In spite of a busy Friday afternoon that included announcements from the New York Mets putting Jeurys Familia on the 10-day DL and scratching Noah Syndergaard from his start Sunday, Aaron Boone joined Mike's On to discuss his excitement level about his first managerial experience in the Subway Series, and much more.

"This is something I've been kind of looking forward to," Boone told Mike Francesa about facing the crosstown Mets.

Especially considering that Giancarlo Stanton has 21 career home runs at Citi Field, Boone thinks this series is coming at a perfect time for his slugger.

"He's played well here, and I feel like he's starting to have some pretty good at-bats this past week," said the Yankees manager.

But Boone isn't overlooking the Mets or their ace, Jacob deGrom. "Even though the Mets have obviously been scuffling a little bit lately, when Jacob deGrom goes to the mound you know you've got your work cut out for you."
