The Yankee offense was silenced again on Monday night, unable to get anything across on former teammate Sonny Gray in an eventual 6-1 loss to the Twins.
The Bombers are now averaging just 3.1 runs per game over their last 12, and BT is finding it very hard to watch, a reaction that has become all too familiar.
“This Yankee lineup is awful, man,” BT said. “They’re rough to watch.
“How are these Yankees different than last year? And the year before? And the year before? Does anyone have an answer?”
The Yankee offense has failed them in recent postseasons, most notably last year, when they were swept out of the ALCS by the Astros. Now, a lineup that is basically the same in terms of personnel, with similar injury narratives, is struggling to keep the team near the top of the division, lagging behind the historically-surging Rays.
“The Yankees are a mess offensively,” BT said. “Can somebody explain to me how the Yankees are different this year than they were last year? Because I don’t see it.
“I’m bored about the 2023 Yankees. I don’t need those 7-5 games. I love the game. But the Yankees are boring so far.”
