BT: Yankees must go all in at trade deadline, even if it means parting with top prospects

BT opened Monday’s show pounding home his declaration that if the Yankees don’t go all in at the trade deadline, it would be “disgraceful,” and they would no longer truly be the Yankees.

“I don’t want to hear about prospects or protecting the future,” BT said. “The Yankees have to go for it.

“If Brian Cashman doesn’t make multiple big trades, take away his key swipe and lock him out of the building forever. It would be negligible not to give this team the horses to make a run.”

BT says these Yankees can’t afford to wait for potential internal reinforcements, or point to Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Rizzo, and a full-strength Gerrit Cole as de facto trade deadline acquisitions. With Aaron Judge and Cole only getting older, and Juan Soto only signed for one year, the Yankees have to go all in without reservation.

“You’re not almost there. Your former pitcher Luis Severino is right. You have two good hitters,” BT said. “The team is not good. With that being said, you have three all timers. You cannot justify not taking a big swing.

“Even Spencer Jones. You want him, you take him, otherwise the Yankees have no chance to win a World Series…It is Brian Cashman’s responsibility to step up to the plate and swing for the fences.”
