BT: Yankees should sign Trevor Bauer 'tonight' after Marcus Stroman addition

Now that the Yankees have reportedly signed Marcus Stroman, BT says there has to be another move for a starting pitcher, or else it is still a failure from the front office in what should be an all-in season.

What would the next move be if BT were in Brian Cashman’s shoes? It might stir up some controversy, but BT would do it in a flash.

“I swear to God I would sign Trevor Bauer tonight,” BT said. “Who is more motivated than Trevor Bauer to get his career back on track?”

Bauer hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2021 after serving a record-long suspension, and still has a suit to settle after settling his high-profile legal dispute with a woman who accused him of sexual assault. But Bauer has vowed to be better and handle the media in a more friendly manner, and is open to pitching in New York.

BT wants to see it happen, with Bauer starting the season as the third starter in the rotation, eventually moving up to No. 2 over Carlos Rodon and behind Gerrit Cole.

“I think the Yankees are gonna continue to circle back to Blake Snell. But I would get Trevor Bauer,” BT said. “I really would.”
