BT and Sal didn’t disappoint in the open of their first-ever show together.
The duo debuted the Brandon Tierney and Sal Licata show by debating where the Yankees stand, with Sal emphatically claiming the Bombers to be contenders, while BT says the team is “dead.”
“They get absolutely punked by the Trout-less Angels, and because Anthony Rizzo punched out four hits against the pathetic Royals…I’m supposed to believe this team that has had nine left fielders is a World Series team?” BT said. “The only thing people point to with the Yankees is that there is still time left. I need something tangible. I don’t want ‘there’s time, they’re only 2.5 back of the Wild Card.’ Tangibly speaking, why are the Yankees about to go on a run?”
Sal is taking a much more optimistic approach, pointing to the standings after the Yanks swept the lowly Royals.
“You guys make it like this team is dead,” Sal said. “They’re two games back of the Wild Card! I think they’re better built for a postseason run since the Baby Bombers debut in 2017.
“This Yankee team still has everything out there in front of them to make the playoffs and make a run!”
BT doesn’t share that confidence, mainly because he doesn’t believe the man in charge will make any deadline moves that will change the team’s current outlook.
“I don’t believe in the person who built this team,” BT said, referencing Brian Cashman.
