BT & Sal rip Yankees for limiting amount of chains Alex Verdugo can wear
Alex Verdugo revealed, via the Associated Press, that Aaron Boone has limited his new outfielder to wearing just one chain around his neck during Yankee games.
Verdugo usually wears closer to four chains per game, and now looks like a different player with just one around his neck while his beard has been shaved to satisfy the Yankees’ facial hair policies.
BT and Sal hate the move by Boone, and says the Yanks need to start letting players show their personalities and embrace the individuality of the modern player.
“Let the man drab. What are we doing?” BT said. “The Yankee dugout energy, I haven’t seen it in a while…you know who you acquired. Let him wear the chains. What are we doing here?
“My translation is, it’s not the Yankee way. What is this, an all-boys private high school like I went to, where you couldn’t wear an earring or shave your head? This is baseball!”
Sal was equally disgusted that the Yankees “neutered the dog.”
“That’s so petty. Come on…individuality is awesome,” Sal said. “Let guys be themselves. You have to in order to have success…what if it were Soto who wanted to wear 15 chains?
“Talk about out of touch.”
