After Brian Cashman didn’t shut the door on more offseason moves for the Yankees, and as Blake Snell remains unsigned, BT is convinced that New York will eventually wind up with the reigning National League Cy Young winner.
“They’re going to get Blake Snell,” BT said. “Brian Cashman told you yesterday that they’re not done, ‘pencils aren’t down,’ and they’re looking for pitching…they know they have a little 2-3 year window when Judge is still in his prime, Gerrit Cole is still in his prime, and specifically a one-year window with Juan Soto.”
Snell is one of several big-name free agents still unsigned (Jordan Montgomery and Cody Bellinger are two others), and BT is convinced that Snell’s asking price will have to keep dropping with each passing day, until eventually, it drops to an amount that the Yankees are comfortable pulling the trigger on.
“Blake Snell will be a Yankee,” BT said. “As the days go by, they are getting a better price tag on Blake Snell. Every day he’s not signed, every day he loses leverage…before you know it, it’s gonna be March.”
